Two more days of Winter Workshops!

From the 21st to the 22nd, we’re running two more days of Winter Workshops! You can book just one of the days if you like by selecting your dates in the select dates box.

Monday 21st: Winter Game Design Jam
Join us for an exciting day of creativity and coding! In our Winter Game Design Jam, participants will dive into game development using GDevelop, MakeCode Arcade or Roblox Studio, creating their very own festive games from scratch in just one day. Whether it’s snowy challenges or holiday quests, your imagination is the limit. Get ready to share your holiday spirit through game design and make memories that last a lifetime!

Tuesday 22nd: Micro:bit
Bundle up and blast off! This winter, your child will journey across a frozen galaxy of glittering ice planets, snowy moons, and shimmering aurora skies on a space robotics mission. Using Micro:bits, they’ll send radio transmissions to fellow astronauts through the icy cosmic chill, learning the exciting world of robotics and micro computing along the way. Back at mission control, they’ll design their own video game controllers, perfect for cozy, hot-cocoa-fueled gaming. Then it’s time to program remote-controlled rover vehicles that crunch and glide across snowy alien terrain, bringing their digital creations to life in the ultimate winter space adventure!

Camp structure

This is a sample schedule for a typical day at camp, including snack and lunch breaks between lessons.

10.00 – 10.40  |  Lesson 1

First off we'll get to know our teacher and classmates through some great mini games and icebreakers. Once we're all friends, we'll be introduced to our activity for the day. Let's jump in to coding!

10.40 – 11.15  |  Lesson 2

We'll have a short stretch and will begin our second activity. This is an unplugged activity, either robot charades or paper airplane coding!

11.15 – 11.30  |  Morning Break

A small break time where children can have a little snack and get ready to get right back into our third activity.

11.30 – 12.30  |  Lesson 3

Scratch Jr. activity creating storyboards and sharing designs with one another.

12.30 – 13.30  |  Lunch Time and long break outside
13.30 – 14.45  |  Lesson 4

Let's refocus after lunch and playtime by diving into building Dashbot or Lego WeDo animation.

14.45 – 15.00  |  Afternoon Snack Break
15.00 – 15.30  |  Lesson 5

After the snack break, which we provide as a healthy snack, now diving into a STEM offline project making posters.

15.30 – 16.00  |  Lesson 6

Our last lesson of the day is an opportunity to finish up our work, recap on what we've learned today and tidy up ready for home time!
