Teacher Training (CPD)

A full day of hands-on training, so you can walk back into your classroom ready to teach AI literacy or robotics.

Training for teachers

We have spent over 10 years teaching young people to build, code and make real things. Now we are opening that up to teachers, with two new CPD courses designed to give you the confidence to lead these lessons yourself.

Every session is practical from the first hour. You will make, test and troubleshoot alongside our team, exactly as your students will, and leave with resources your school can start using straight away.

AI Literacy

In this course you will learn:

  • What the changing landscape of education in the age of AI means for your school
  • Advantages and disadvantages of AI
  • The importance of having an AI policy in your school
  • How to set up an AI policy within your school
  • How to get your colleagues' buy-in
  • Which tools are safe for use with children
  • How to get students' buy-in
  • How to communicate with parents
  • How to monitor success

You will leave feeling confident about where AI tools can help, where they go wrong, and how to teach students to use them thoughtfully and creatively, without cognitive offloading.

Robotics

In this course you will:

  • Programme accessible robots from scratch, with the help of an in-house simulator
  • Learn how to bring robotics into your GCSE and A-level Computer Science classes
  • Gain access to Kita, our in-house education IDE
  • Take away resources and guidance for accessible robotics in your KS4 and KS5 classrooms
  • Discover scalable, fun, hands-on learning that resonates with students of all ability levels

You will leave feeling confident about how to inspire your students to pursue robotics careers in the future, how to incorporate robotics without compromising on exam assessment subjects, and open to accessible robotics platforms that are suitable for KS4 and KS5.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the training for?

AI Literacy is for any member of staff who wants to understand AI and help shape how your school uses it, from classroom teachers to senior leaders. Robotics is designed for teachers of GCSE and A-level Computer Science, working with KS4 and KS5 students.

Do teachers need any experience with coding or robotics?

No. We start from where your team is and build from there. Robotics teachers will find some coding knowledge helpful, but you do not need to have worked with robots before.

How long is each session?

Each course is one full school day, with breaks. Online training can also be split across two mornings or two afternoons, which makes it easier to fit around timetables and cover. We will agree exact times with you when we confirm your booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel within 2 weeks of your training date, we charge half the price. If you cancel within 1 week of your training date, the full price is charged. Cancellations made more than 2 weeks ahead are free of charge.

We have fewer teachers than the maximum. Can we share a session?

Yes, for online training. You are welcome to invite teachers from other schools in your area or trust to join your session and fill the places, which brings the cost per teacher down for everyone. Just let us know which schools are joining when you book.

Where does in person training take place?

We come to you, so your teachers can train in their own school without the travel. If another venue suits you better, just let us know when you book.

What do we need to provide on the day?

For in person training, a room with a screen or projector, a reliable internet connection and a laptop for each teacher. For online training, each teacher needs a laptop with a webcam and a good internet connection. We will send everything else you need ahead of the day.

Do we need to buy robots or other equipment?

Not to get started. Our in-house simulator and Kita, our education IDE, mean you can begin programming robots without buying kit. If your school would like physical robots later on, we are happy to talk you through affordable options.

How does the bundle work?

The bundle gives your team both AI Literacy and Robotics, with a full day for each course. In person it is £1,600 for up to 5 teachers, and online it is £1,000 for up to 10 teachers. You can choose separate dates for each course.

What if we have more teachers than the maximum?

Get in touch and we will put together something that works for your school, whether that is an extra session or a whole-staff option.

What do teachers take away from the training?

Ready-made resources, lesson plans and activities your students can start on right away, plus the guidance to adapt them for your own classes. Robotics teachers also get access to Kita, our in-house education IDE.

Will teachers receive a certificate?

Yes. Every teacher receives a certificate of CPD attendance after the training.

When is my booking confirmed?

The dates you choose on the form are your preferred dates. Our team will check availability and email you to confirm, usually within a couple of working days. Nothing is booked until you hear from us.

How do we pay?

Once your dates are confirmed, we will send an invoice to your school with everything your finance team needs.

Can we change our date?

We understand that school life can be unpredictable. Let us know as early as you can and we will do our best to find a new date that works for everyone.

Still have a question? We would love to hear from you.
